Northern Region Mechanic/Instructor

The Alaska Operating Engineers/Employers Training Trust will be accepting resumes for a full time Mechanic/ Instructor position in Fairbanks.

from September 1^st to September 15^th, 2024.

The position includes but is not limited to:

• Maintain and operate equipment.
• Budget management
• Research quotes on equipment/work needed.
• Reporting all expenses to main office
• Teaching classes (not limited to):
  • DOT Brake Inspection
  • Diesel Engines / Drivetrain
  • Power Shift Transmissions
  • Electrical
  • Brakes
  • Hydraulics
  • Service Oiling
  • Field Maintenance
  • Safety Classes

• Travel to Palmer for Staff meetings, classes, orientations, etc.
• Occasional out of state travel.

Pre-requisites:

• Must be a current 302 member in good standing.
• Former apprentice from the AOEETT program – preferred.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• No felonies/no DUl’s in the last 3 years/overall clean driving record.
• Excellent communication skills, (written and verbal).
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
• Work experience that includes summer and winter construction work (preferred).
• Instructing and training experience – preferred.
• 3 years MSHA experience.
